| Two second places for KTM’s Ivan Cervantes in Poland |
| KTM Enduro Factory rider Ivan Cervantes faced off in the E2 GPs of Poland this weekend against his arch rival Finland’s Mika Ahola to finish with two second place including a very close finish on day two. |
|
Teammate Thomas Oldrati also had a strong weekend and was twice on the podium in third place, while KTM France rider Pierre Alexandre Renet wrapped up a great weekend for the Orange riders with a third and fourth place finish.
Riders tackled very hard tests on sand and grass, surfaces that are not the most comfortable for Cervantes of Spain. On Saturday Ivan was not too fast in lap one of the race but played good catch up to finish second. Sunday was also eventful for the Spanish rider who crashed three times and still managed to finish within 0.8 seconds of the leader Ahola after one hour and 25 minutes of grueling tests over the Polish track. Cervantes trails Ahola by just 12 points in the overall standings and there is still a lot of racing left in the current season.
While the competition between the two leaders is proving to be a cliff hanger it is hardly less exciting between the two KTM riders Oldrati and Renet. The Frenchman crashed on Saturday in the second lap but got the better of Oldrati in the final allowing him to take the podium with a lad of just 1.52 seconds. of E2.
